Lee Arnold Johnson
Obituary
Lee Arnold Johnson, 90, formerly of Newton, and Topock,
Ariz., died on Friday (Nov. 4, 2011) at his home in Maple Valley, Wash., after
battling a long illness of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He was born on July 1, 1921, the son of Ray A. Johnson and
Delia Lewis Johnson. He graduated from Whitewater High School, served in the
U.S. Navy in World War II, and married Elsie Dudte on Oct. 13, 1944.
Lee worked at Unruh's Grain Elevator, Hillsboro Industries
and the Boeing Company, both in Wichita and Everett, Wash. He and Elsie retired
to Topock, Ariz., where he greatly enjoyed fishing and golfing for more than 20
years. He loved his retirement and the many friends he met. They returned to
Washington to live near family in 2005.
Surviving are Elsie and their children, Carol Baumgartner of
Kent, Wash., Jerry Johnson of Las Vegas, and Scott Johnson of Kent;
daughters-in-law Karen and Teresa; four grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law,
Warren Baumgartner.
Per his request, there will be cremation and a small, family
military service at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley, Wash.
