David F. Wiebe

David F. Wiebe, 81, passed away on Friday (Nov. 11, 2011)
and was thereby transported to the care of his Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born on June 19, 1930, to David V. Wiebe and Martha
Frantz Wiebe in Hillsboro.
David attended Tabor College, Bethel College, Arizona State
and the University of Colorado. He was a secondary school teacher at Conway
Springs, Andale, Lincolnville, Hutchinson, Belleville and Bentley in Kansas. He
also served on the administrative staff of Freeman Junior College of Freeman,
S.D., and Tabor College in Hillsboro.
From 1984 to 2002, David served as director of museums for
the city of Hillsboro. He enjoyed this opportunity and was well versed in the
history of Hillsboro and Hillsboro families. He was involved in farming in
California and Kansas. He had an extensive collection of antique farm
equipment.
He is survived by brothers, Raymond and John and wife,
Caryl; sister, Constance and husband, Don Isaac, all of Hillsboro; nieces and
nephews, Dorene Wiebe Thiessen (Linden), Jon Wiebe (Ellynne), Colene Wiebe
Wiens (Joel), Christina Isaac Zimmerman (Lance) and James Isaac; and 15
grand-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the
Hillsboro Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church. Memorial gifts may be sent to
"Friends of the Hillsboro Museums," in care of Jost Funeral Home of
Hillsboro.
