Obituary
Irvan "Pete" Buller, 85, died
Wednesday (Aug. 2, 2017) at Bethesda Home, Goessel. He was born Sept.
8, 1931, in Goessel to Peter S. and Emma Buller. He attended Emma
Valley and Gordon grade schools and then graduated from Goessel High
School.
On June 3, 1951, he married Viola F.
Flaming. They spent a year in voluntary service with MCC in
California, after which they lived on a farm for 20 years. They moved
to Goessel in 1971 where they owned and operated Hi-Way Service
Station, after which he was employed at Hesston Hay and Forage until
he retired.
He was a member of the Goessel
Mennonite Church. Church was very important to Pete. He served in
many different ways, including youth sponsors with Viola, Sunday
School teacher, Sunday School superintendent, usher, trustee, deacon
and various committees.
He is survived by his wife, Viola
Buller of Goessel; his sons, Michael A. (Jane) of Newton, Jon D.
(Shell) of Hillsboro and Darcey J. (Emalyn) of Newton; grandchildren:
Ali (Wes) Shaw, Dylan (Lindsey) Buller, Travis (Jenna Schmidt)
Buller, Corey Buller and Nicolas Buller; and great-grandchildren, Eve
Buller and Kacey Buller.
He was preceded in death by a son,
Timothy; two grandchildren, Monty Buller and Cassidy Buller; two
sisters, LaVerna Buller Dick and Laura Buller; and a brother, Lloyd
Buller.
A private graveside service was held
Friday (Aug. 4, 2017) in the Goessel Cemetery. No formal memorial
service is planned. Arrangements were handled by Miller-Ott Funeral
Home, Goessel.
