Obituary
Kenneth Edward Prockish, "Kenny",
83, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on
Monday (Aug. 7, 2017) at his home surrounded by his family.
Kenneth was born to Leo and Gertrude
(Kraus) Prockish on Jan. 31, 1934, in St. George.
Kenneth married Jeanine Anderson on
Nov. 6, 1951, in Newton. They moved to Newton in 1952 and started a
family and Kenneth's career in aviation. Kenneth worked in
non-destructive testing for Beechcraft and Cessna for many years
until his retirement. Kenneth and Jeanine were married for 65 years
prior to his passing.
He loved traveling, the outdoors,
fishing, hunting and golfing. Kenneth had three official hole-in-ones
while playing golf. He loved his family and enjoyed time with his
children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanine;
sons, Randall (Cindy) of Gilbert, Arizona, and Darrell (Molly) of
Mesa, Arizona; daughters: Teresa (Rick) Roberts of Newton, Sandra
(Larry) Adams of Goddard and Sheryl (Mike) Wiens of Wichita; three
brothers: Eugene of Louisville, Vernon of Westmoreland and Delbert of
Wamego; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Leo and Gertrude Prockish; two sisters, Deloris Prockish and
Marjorie Howard; and one grandson, Sean Wiens.
A public visitation will be held from 1
to 5 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 13, 2017) at Petersen Funeral Home. Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 14, 2017, at Petersen Funeral
Home Chapel in Newton. A graveside committal service will follow the
service at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
