Susie A. Lohrentz

93 of North Newton Susie Lohrentz, 93, died on Nov. 12, 2011, at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton. She was born on Feb. 20, 1918, in Lehigh to Peter and Agnetha (Schmidt) Hiebert. On April 6, 1941, she married George Ratzloff in Goessel. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1954. Susie later married John Lohrentz on Sept. 3, 1964. He survives of the home. Susie was a longtime member of First Mennonite Church in Newton and was a retired restaurant cook. She greatly looked forward to spending time with her many friends and loving family - especially time fishing with her husband.

She is survived by sons, Phillip and Virgean Ratzloff of Inman, and Don and Sharon Ratzloff of Buhler; daughters, Gloria Fowler of Wisconsin Falls, Wis., and Geraldine and Lewis Wiebe of Newton; 14 grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Ratzloff; brothers, Rudolph Hiebert and Adolph Hiebert; sisters, Linda Flassen, Helen Jantz, Hilda Ratzloff, Margaret Woelk, Agnes Flaming, Anna Schmidt and Hilda Ratzloff; and son-in-law, Gary Fowler.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church in Newton, with pastors Anita Kehr and Joan Boyer presiding. Inurnment will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the West Zion Cemetery in rural Moundridge.

Memorials may be left with MCC or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
