Vern Wadsworth, 88, of Sedgwick, passed away Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 in Wichita. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, and service is 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, both at Sedgwick United Methodist Church, Sedgwick. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
Vern was born in Maize, KS on Aug. 9, 1929, to the late Fairy (Forward) and Walker Wadsworth. He was a Lab Technician and Engineer at Coleman for 35 year and was a full-time farmer. He started Wadsworth Post Rock Christmas Tree Farm in Sedgwick in 1971.
On December 14, 1948 he married Peggy (Jacobs) Wadsworth in Wichita who survives him. He is also survived by daughters Kristina Mitchem and husband Randy of Sedgwick, Colleen Blattner and husband Randy of Rozel, Amy Wells and husband Aaron of Augusta; grandchildren Kyla McAuliffe (Chris), Russ Wadsworth, Megan RoTramel (Jason), Brian Mitchem, Betsy Cagna (Bob), Ethan Blattner, Abby Moore (Russ), Caitlyn Cox (Ryan), Bridgett Kippes (Jason), Gretchen Thurau (Travis), Keely Freking (Adam), Chase Wells, and Keira Wells, Cory Yingling, and Kim Harmon; 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Tim Wadsworth, brother Marvin Wadsworth and sister Norma Miller.
