Ronald 'Dean' Gasaway
Obituary
Ronald "Dean" Gasaway, 70, died on Thursday (Dec.
22, 2011) at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was born on July 5, 1941, in
Great Bend to Daniel and Virginia (Whitehead) Gasaway. On August 26, 1966, he
married Sharon Doyle in Kay County, Okla., and she survives of the home. Dean
served his country in the U.S. Army and National Guard and was retired from
Boeing Wichita in the Material Procurement Department. He also was a member and
former manager of the the Newton American Legion. Golfing and spending time
with his loving family and friends were pastimes he enjoyed. He also enjoyed
traveling with his wife and family.
Dean is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home; son,
Robert Gasaway of Park City; daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Andy Fewin of
Chapman; granddaughter, Hannah Fewin of Chapman; grandson, Zackary Fewin of
Chapman; brothers, Max Gasaway of Battlefield, Mo., and Glen Gasaway of
Emporia; and sister, Joan Young of Branson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Dean's life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, with Pastor Bobby Massey presiding.
Viewing and visitation with family will be from 10 a.m. to service time on
Tuesday at the funeral home.
