Obituary

Mildred "Milly" Stucky, 92, died Sunday (Aug. 27, 2017) at Kidron Bethel Nursing Home, North Newton. She was born Feb. 22, 1925, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, to Rev. Isaac J. and Helen (Schroeder) Dick.

She was a seamstress, homemaker, and later, sold tickets at Bethel College. Milly was a volunteer with the Fine Arts department at Bethel College as well. On Aug. 17, 1947, she married Howard Stucky in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He died June 27, 1980.

Survivors include sons, Clair, Moundridge, and Jerome (Kellene), Lawrence; daughters, Teresa (David) Birky, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and Dorothy (Keith) Janzen, McPherson; five grandchildren: Darren Birky, Harrisonburg, Virginia, Kyle (Julie) Birky, Parnell, Iowa, Camille (Russell) Adrian, North Newton, Ben (Susan) Harder, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Emily Harder, Lawrence; two step-grandchildren, Heather Quiring, Austin, Texas, and Holleand Quiring, Phoenix; and six great-grandchildren: Isaac, Molly and Hazel Birky and Hannah, Micah, and Elijah Adrian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marcella Klaassen and Selma Unruh; husband, Howard; son, Keith; and son-in-law, Kurt Harder.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 2, 2017) at Bethel College Mennonite Church, Newton. Burial of the cremains will take place in the church columbarium. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (Sept. 1, 2017) at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Bethel College Mennonite Church, MCC or to Bethel College, all in care of Moundridge Funeral Home.
