Obituary

Mary Ruth Libhart, 95, passed away on Thursday (Aug. 31, 2017) at Sandpiper Healthcare in Wichita, where she had resided for more than four years.

She was born on Nov. 27, 1921, to Joseph and Mary (Miller) Brown in Newton. She married William M. Libhart on March 1, 1941, in Newton. Mary was a retired secretary to the City Manager of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Libhart; parents, Joseph O. and Mary O. Brown; and brothers, Naaman Brown and Jess Brown.

Survivors include one sister, Bonnie Scheller of Springfield, Illinois; son, Martin (Toni) Libhart of Wichita; granddaughters, Jennifer (Chad) Molen of Arvada, Colorado, and Stephanie (Tim) Goscha of Wichita; great-grandchildren Hannah Molen, Chandler Molen and Hayley Goscha; and many nieces and nephews.

A public visitation is scheduled at Petersen Funeral Home from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2017). The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. to greet friends and family. There will not be a funeral service and a family gathering will be scheduled at a later date.
