Orlando V. 'Lannie' Clark

Orlando V. 'Lannie' Clark, 88, farmer and stockman, died Monday (June 16, 2008) at Newton Medical Center in Newton. He was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Wichita to John R. and Edith B. (Witt) Clark. Both are deceased. On April 3, 1948, he married Elizabeth May 'Betty' Wartman in Halstead. She survives. He attended First United Methodist Church in Halstead. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Hicks-Davison American Legion Post 268 in Sedgwick. He was a former Eagle township board member and a 4-H leader.

Other survivors include son, Bob Clark of St. Louis; daughters, Donna Lay and husband, John, and Nancy Wilson and husband, Charlie, all of Wichita; brothers, John Clark of Sedgwick and George Clark of Wichita; sister, Martha Bonds of San Antonio, N.M.; and five grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Halstead, with the Rev. Jennifer Whitt officiating.

Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bentley.

Memorials may be given to Sedgwick County 4-H Foundation in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, which is in charge of arrangements.
