Doris Jean Denny, 81, retired secretary and administrative assistant at the American Cancer Society, died Saturday (July 10, 2010) at Asbury Park in Newton.

Visitation with family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway in Wichita.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W. Douglas Ave., in Wichita.

She is survived by her sons, Albert (Linda) and Gary (Tammy); daughter, Joyce (Danny) Banning; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine (Rev. Jerry) Gilmer and Janice (Frank) Woodruff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean E. Denny; and brother, Darrell Beeton.
