Obituary
Pat (Trisha) Franzen, 73, of Nemaha, Neb., formerly of
Newton, died Sunday (July 11, 2010) at Creighton University Medical Center in
Omaha, Neb.
Patricia Evelyn Gayler was born on Dec. 26, 1937, in
Watsonville, Calif., the daughter of Archie C. Gayler and Carrie E. Healy
Gayler. She was the only child born to this union.
Pat was raised, attended school and graduated in Wichita.
She was united in marriage to Daniel Franzen on May 15,
1971, at the nursing home in Newton where she worked.
Pat and Danny raised two sons, David Franzen and Randy
Nader. They lived in Newton for most their married life and moved to Nemaha in
1995.
Pat was a member of Eastern Star, a member of Rebecca's
Lodge, both in Nemaha and Newton, and helped with the U.M.W. Methodist Church
in Nemaha.
She loved to sew and was an avid reader, devoting much of
her time to the Nemaha Library.
Even though Pat was an only child, she had eight first
cousins who were as close as siblings.
She had been in failing health for the past month and, due
to sudden illness, was taken to Creighton Medical Center in Omaha. It is there
that she passed away, having reached the age of 73.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Danny
Franzen of Nemaha; sons, David Franzen of Horton and Randy Nader of Hiawatha;
and numerous grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
