Obituary
Marie E. Mitchell, 84, retired bookkeeper for Herzler Clinic
in Halstead, died Tuesday (July 13, 2010) at Dillon Living Center in
Hutchinson.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1925, in Cunningham, to Thomas
Orville and Eva Lena (Tapp) Alley.
On May 16, 1970, she married Cecil C. Mitchell in Miami,
Okla. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Gary (Charlotte) Johnson of
Darien, Ill; daughters, Janet (Lee) Wulfemeyer of Abbyville and Sue (Rockey)
Penner of Burrton; sisters Betty Reed of Claremore, Okla., and Sharon Groat of
Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack "Bud"
Alley; and a sister, Virginia Ishmael.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family
receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Burrton
Christian Church in Burrton, with the Rev. Charles Kerr presiding.
Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans or
American Red Cross in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
