Jerry Schroeder
Jerry Schroeder, 80, entrepreneur, farmer, and owner-founder
of Jerry's Panel Center, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at 3:30
a.m. Wednesday (July 21, 2010) in his home, surrounded by family.
Jerry was born on July 18, 1930, in Moundridge to Peter C.
and Elma E. (Stucky) Schroeder.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn; daughter,
Susan and spouse John McKean of Wichita; sons, Doug and spouse Bonnie of
Columbus, Ohio, and Jeff and spouse Terri of Ark City; grandchildren, Jennifer,
Bryan, Jaclyn, Julie, Christopher and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Bethany,
Brynlea, Brooklynn, Brody, Kyndol and Hadley; sisters, Wilma Siebuhr of Newton
and Fern Nelms of Hesston; brothers, Everett of Walton and Vern of North
Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary; and
brothers, Eugene, Bud, and Myron.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with the family
receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Petersen Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First
Mennonite of Christian Cemetery on Arapaho Road South of Moundridge.
A service of celebration and remembrance will be at 1:30
p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Newton with the Rev. Doug
Tofteland presiding.
Memorials may be left with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, KSU
center for basic cancer research, or the Macular Degeneration Research
