Obituary
Mary Ann Smith, 72, of Newton, died Thursday (July 22, 2010)
at the Select Specialty Hospital on the St. Francis Campus of Via Christi
Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1938, in Bartlesville, Okla., the
daughter of Robert E. and Bessie Helen Foster Perry. Mary Ann was raised in
Bartlesville, where she graduated from high school in 1956.
Mary Ann married Bobby L. Smith on July 7, 1956, in
Bartlesville. They first moved to Newton in 1974. Bobby's work would take them
to several other areas before returning to Newton in 2008.
Mary Ann had worked in the loan department at Midland
National Bank in Newton for eight years.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby, of the home in Newton;
two sons, Andy Smith and his wife Diana of Wichita, and Matt Smith of Newton;
one daughter, Melody Nedeau and her husband Howard of Wichita; one brother,
Russell Perry of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one brother,
Jerry; and two sisters, Linda and Betty.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home.
