Hollie Harris
Obituary
Hollie Harris, 89, of North Newton died Friday (July 23,
2010) at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1920, in St. Charles, Ill., to Hume
and Erna (Detrois) Harris. On Sept. 10, 1970, she married Duhhaine Waeker; he
survives of the home.
Hollie was a retired actress, singer and voice artist. She
also was an accomplished dancer. Hollie loved to entertain and looked forward
to spending time with and keeping in contact with the many friends she made in
her career. She served in the USO during World War II, entertaining troops in
the Pacific Theatre of operations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Hume
"Tuck" Harris Jr.
There will be a private family service, and there will be a
private burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Petersen Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of
arrangements.
