Luella A. Cole
Obituary
Luella A. Cole, 93, died on Tuesday (March 30, 2010) at
Asbury Park, in Newton.
She was born on June 17, 1916 to Ivah P. (Clemens) and Roy
H. Zingery in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
On January 27, 1937, she married Arthur Thomas Cole in Mt.
Pleasant. He preceded her in death.
Luella was a homemaker most of her life. Luella and Arthur
made their home in Liberal. After Arthur died, Luella moved to Newton in 2001.
While in Liberal, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the
Beauceant.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in
Liberal. Upon relocating to Newton, she transferred her membership to the Salem
United Methodist Church. She was active in the church and with volunteering at
Asbury Park.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Ann DeVoss
(Phillip) of Wichita, Karen Kay Malcom (Larry) of Haysville, Susan Jean Clanton
(Steven) of Minneapolis, and Katherine Louise Finlay of Overland Park; one son,
David William Cole (Ginger) of Olathe; three brothers, William E. Zingery,
Shepard, Mich., Gale Zingery, Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and Dale Zingery, Clare,
Mich.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Cole, Derby; 14 grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Arthur Thomas
Cole Jr. and daughter-in-law, Terry Cole; brother, Durward Zingery; sister,
Velma Janette Burke; and son-in-law, John Finlay.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home, with the family greeting from 6 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at the
funeral home, with Dr. J. Tal Tittsworth presiding.
Burial will be at 4 p.m. at the Restlawn Cemetery in
Liberal.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salem United Methodist
Church or Asbury Park, in care of the funeral home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton,
KS, 67114.
