Doris Dunlavy
Doris M. Wiebe Dunlavy, 75, of Longmont passed away Sunday
(April 11, 2010).
She was born on Jan. 13, 1935, in Newton. Her parents were
John P. and Otillie Becker Wiebe.
Doris grew up in the Wiebe family home at 917 Logan St. in
Newton. She attended Roosevelt Grade School, Newton Junior High and Newton High
School, graduating in May of 1952.
On Oct. 13, 1953, Doris married Dick Dunlavy in Newton.
After living in Newton a few years, they moved to Longmont.
Immediate family members are daughter Claire Balsley and
husband Brad; son Drew Dunlavy and wife Jane; and son Donn Dunlavy. There also
are seven grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Cary
Cay (July of 1954) and Paula Marie (February of 1959); husband Dick Dunlavy
(December of 1989); parents; and sisters Elsye Allison in 2000 and Ericka
Stucky in 2003; and brother Dallas in 2008.
Wiebe family survivors include twin sister Delores Thomas of
Newton; sister Esther Norton of McKinney, Texas; and brother John E. and wife
Janett Wiebe of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a mother and housewife, Doris was a
maintenance supervisor at IBM in Boulder, Colo., for many years, retiring in
1990.
Doris was an active member of Restoration Messianic
Fellowship in Boulder and participated in church meetings and activities. Her
children and grandchildren were very important to her. She kept up with their
lives and activities. She also enjoyed gardening.
The funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at the church in
Boulder. Burial was in the cemetery at Louisville next to her husband.
