Obituary
W.J. "Bill" McPheeters Jr., 83, died Friday (April
16, 2010) at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
He was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Peabody to William John Sr.
and Ella Augusta (Eberhard) McPheeters.
On Nov. 19, 1954, he married Vada Ann Truax in Wichita, and
she survives of home.
Bill was a member of First Baptist Church of Peabody. He was
a retired framer in the Peabody area and served his country in the U.S. Army.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and especially
enjoyed fishing with his granddaughter.
He was a man of deep faith and love of the Lord.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Pamela and Bruce
Carter of Peabody; granddaughter Alyssa Carter of Peabody; brother, Irvin
McPheeters of Peabody; half brother, Melvin Patchett of Easton, Md.; and one
grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and half
brother, Kenneth Patchett.
There will be no visitation.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First
Baptist Church in Peabody with Pastor Rodger Charles of the church presiding.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist
Church of Peabody, Prairie Lawn Avenue of Flags or the Peabody/Burns Alumni
Association Scholarship Fund in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St.,
Newton, KS 67114.
