George F. Brueggeman
George F. Brueggeman, 81, died on Monday (March 1, 2010) at
his home in Newton.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1928, in Parsons, the son of John and
Elsie Brueggeman. During the Korean Conflict, George was stationed in Alaska.
On Oct. 7, 1956, he married Beverly Pickett in Parsons. She
died on March 15, 2008.
George had worked more than 30 years at Cessna Aircraft Co.
in Wichita until retiring in 1988. He had been an active member of the American
Legion.
Survivors include a son, John of Wichita; two daughters,
Denise Siemens of Salina, and Mona Clark and husband, Paul, of Newton; three
grandchildren, Jessica Bowman and husband, Aaron, of Chicago, and Ian and Aaron
Clark of Newton; a brother, David Brueggeman of Nevada, Mo.; and three sisters,
Alice Loyd of Eudora, Gloria Holler of Kansas City, Mo., and Dorothy Brueggeman
of Olathe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two
brothers, John and Paul; and two sisters, Francis Holler and Mildred Hazel.
There will be a book signing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday
at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepard Hospice
in care of the funeral home.
