Sean H. O'Neil

Sean H. O'Neil, 63, died Saturday (March 6, 2010) at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

He was born Nov. 11, 1946, in Plainview, Texas, to Hugh B. and Lee E. (Banwart) O'Neil,

One June 25, 1988, he married Shirley Killfoil in Newton, and she survives of home.

Sean was a member of Church of God of the First Born in Newton.

He was a retired over-the-road truck driver. Sean enjoyed relaxing by painting and drawing trains and trucks. He had a love of animals, especially his beloved dog.

Sean's family was very important to him, and he greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and following their activities.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Killfoil) O'Neil of Newton; daughter, Susan and Rick Redger of Newton; daughter, Tammie and Jim Schmidt of Newton; son, Larry Savage of Soldier; son, Alvin and Tena Savage of Newton; brother, Owen and Vonda O'Neil of Claremore, Okla.; sister, Mary and David Floyd of Tulsa, Okla.; mother-in-law Lyla Killfoil of Newton; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and granddaughters Natlie Savage and Lanna Redger.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Church of God of the First Born in Newton with Pastor Bill Myers of the church officiating.

Burial will be at Church of God of the Firstborn Cemetery in Newton.

Memorial may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
