Marilyn K. Roux
Marilyn K. Roux, 63, of Newton died Tuesday (March 9, 2010)
at her home in Newton.
She was born on June 26, 1946, in Newton, the daughter of
Ralph and Lydia Kater Roux.
She graduated from Newton High School in 1964. She was crowned
"Lassie Queen" of the Kansas Shorthorn Association.
Marilyn left Newton as a young woman and lived throughout
the Midwest. She returned to the Newton area in 2003 and worked as the cook in
the kitchen at Prairie View.
Survivors include her father, Ralph Roux of the home; one
brother, Norman Roux and his wife, Barbara of Moundridge; niece, Joyce Anderson
and her husband, Dale of McCook, Neb.; nephew, Dwayne Roux and his wife, Rhonda
of Newton; and great nieces, Chelsea Schenherr and Kacy Anderson.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother.
Friends may call and sign the book at the funeral home from
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive
friends between 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday.
There will be no services.
A memorial has been established with Caring Hands Humane
Society and American Cancer Society. Contributions may be sent to Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
