Arellano, Robin

The Newton Kansan

Robin Arellano

Obituary

Robin Lynn (Miller) Arellano, 59, passed away on Sept. 21, 2017. She was born in Newton to Paul and Mary Ann Miller. She was a graduate of Newton High School.

Robin was a happy-go-lucky, free-spirited person. She had a smile that no one could ever forget and one of the biggest hearts. She loved music and enjoyed having a good time and working outside during the summer. If you were to tell her she couldn't do something, she would always prove she could no matter what it was. She was an extremely strong, stubborn woman.

She worked at the Newton Surgery Center pretty much until she was put on hospice and couldn't fight anymore, but she inspired so many people around her with the amazing fight she did put up for five years.

Robin is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Miller; her children: Shanna Smith of Wichita, Chastity Arellano of Wichita, Taylor Arellano of Newton and Lance Mathes of Anthony; grandchildren: Izabella Krehbiel, Hannah Lewis, Madison Lewis, Lilly Smith, Titus Smith, Emily Morford, Zachary Morford, Brittney Arellano, Haley Schroeder, Karlie Parker, Taylor Schrant, Ashlan Mathes and Maggie Mathes; great-grandkids Kamdynn Parker and Adalie Parker; brother, Robert Miller; and many other family and friends.

She will be greatly missed and forever loved by so many people, but never forgotten. Her ashes will be spread in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the Garden of the Gods, which was her favorite spot as she always said it was the most beautiful place and wanted that to be her final resting place.

Her wishes were that she did not want a funeral, but a party to celebrate her life, so we will have more details to come.

One of the things she wrote to her family was, "Smile, life is beautiful! Live it! I have, believe me!" She can now spread her wings, and fly high and free without any pain or worries; she is now at peace. Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com.
