Mary Ruth Trammell
Mary Ruth Trammell died on Friday (March 19, 2010) in
Wichita.
She was born on March 26, 1938, to James and Mattie (Parr)
Pickett in Arkansas City. They preceded her in death.
Mary was a retired office professional for the hotel
industry. She was an avid reader and was not to be interrupted during the
"Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" game shows. She was a
strong woman, and her strength helped her through many difficult struggles in
her life. She had a passion for shopping at "garage sales" and a deep
love for her grandchildren. She was a good friend to many and often helped care
for those close to her.
She is survived by her four children: daughters, Michelle
Steinert of Larned, and Donna and John Drew of Great Bend; son, Kelly Leazer of
Wichita, and Larry and Naomi Leazer of Emporia; and sister, Jackie Fishel of El
Dorado. She had seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James
Pickett.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Petersen
Funeral Home Chapel in Newton.
Memorial donations may be made to "Victory In The Valley"
in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
