Harriette Louise Schwartz

LARNED - Harriette Louise Schwartz, 90, died Friday (March 19, 2010) at Larned Healthcare Center in Larned.

She was born on Feb. 3, 1920, in Harper, the daughter of Robert and Edna (Loveless) Minton.

She was a registered nurse and resident of Larned, coming from Wichita and Newton.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton and graduated from the Kansas University School of Nursing.

On June 16, 1943, she married Elmer W. Schwartz. He died in 1947.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Skalsky and husband Paul of Belpre; three grandchildren, Jeannie Jessup and husband Russ of Bastrop, Texas, Karen Schwenk and husband Tom of Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Mike Skalsky and wife Beth of Hartford; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Trollope.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Belpre with Father Bernard Felix as celebrant.

Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John The Evangelist Cemetery in Hoisington.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given to South Wind Hospice in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
