Pauline Grace Schmidt
Pauline Grace Schmidt, 73, died Sunday in Wichita.
She was born on May 10, 1936, in Newton to Herbert A. and
Edna (Voth) Schmidt. Pauline grew up in the Grace Hill Mennonite Church
community where she was baptized and was a member of the Lorraine Avenue
Mennonite Church in Wichita. She attended the Candy School and was a graduate
of Newton High School. She was a retired unit clerk at Wesley Hospital, serving
for 42 years in that position. Pauline was instrumental in caring for her
sister Caroline throughout her life. She and her family were instrumental in
starting Northview Developmental Services in Newton. Pauline enjoyed spending time
with her friends and loving family.
She is survived by a sister, Bertina (Albert) Ensz of
Hesston; niece, Rhonda (Anthony) Horsch of Newton; nephew, Jonathan (Denise)
Ensz of Newton; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Edna
Schmidt, and her sister, Caroline Schmidt.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Lorraine Avenue
Mennonite Church in Wichita. A graveside service will be at Grace Hill
Mennonite Cemetery in rural Whitewater at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral
Home in Newton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials can
be made to Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church care of Petersen Funeral Home.
