Lauren Paige Kemp, 3-year-old daughter of Lyle and Jennifer
(Embry) Kemp, died Monday (March 29, 2010) at the Via Christi Regional Medical
Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born on May 4, 2006, in Newton. Lauren loved music. She was a very happy little girl who
enjoyed being outdoors. Whenever she would enter a room, her smile would light
up the whole room. She truly loved being around people and giving kisses.
Lauren was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Lauren is survived by her parents of the home. Whenever she
heard the voices of her brother, Landen Kemp, or her sister, Laryssa Kemp, her
face would light up. Other survivors include her paternal grandmother Jean Kemp
and grandfather Lowell Kemp, both of Newton; maternal grandmother Gloria Embry
and grandfather Mark Embry, both of Newton; godfather Derek Embry and godmother
Rita White, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lauren also enjoyed playing with her dogs, Max and Sophia.
She loved adventure and enjoyed her trips to Colorado and Oklahoma. Lauren also
enjoyed riding ATVs with her family. Lauren will be deeply missed by the many people who loved
her.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 5 p.m., today at
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday at Our
Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m Wednesday at the
funeral home. A memorial has been established in Lauren's name at the
Hutchinson Credit Union. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral
