Harry Unger
Harry Unger, 82, of Peabody, died Wednesday (Feb. 3, 2010)
at Newton Medical Center.
He was born on April 11, 1927, in rural Peabody to Peter N.
and Mary Seibel Unger.
Harry was married to Audrey Campbell on Jan. 25, 1975, in
Cottonwood Falls. He was a farmer and a member of Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren
Church in Hillsboro.
Survivors include his step sons, Dennis Gillen and wife,
Donita of Hesston, Darrell Gillen and wife, Corkey of Wyoming, and Alan Gillen
and Dona Stevens of Peabody; nephews, Jerol Schmidt and wife, Delome, Ronnie
Schmidt and wife Judy, Larry Schmidt and Debra Hogan, and Francis Balzer and
wife, Jaquie; nieces, Barb Soth and husband Jim, and Sharon Schroeder and
husband Richard; several great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; seven
step grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; sister, Edna
Schmidt; sister-in-law, June Campbell, and brothers in law, Ferd Schmidt, Elmer
Balzer and Earl Campbell.
The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at
Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ebenfeld
Menonite Brethren Church with Pastor Gaylord Goertzen officiating. Burial will
be at Ebenfeld Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
A memorial fund has been set up with Ebenfeld Church or
Salem Home.
