Anna Goebel Goering
HESSTON – Anna Goebel Goering, 103,
registered nurse, died Friday (Dec. 19, 2003) at Schowalter Villa in
Hesston.
She was born March 5, 1900, to Jacob
and Lydia (Reusser) Goebel in Deercreek, Okla. They preceded her in
death. She married Herbert A Goering Nov. 8, 1928, in Moundridge. He
preceded her in death March 2, 1977.
She graduated from the Halstead School
of Nursing in 1925. She was a member of Bethel College Mennonite
Church. She was a member of the Bethel College Women's Association,
Bethel Hospital Women's Auxiliary, the Blood Bank of the Red Cross,
Halstead Hospital Nurse's Association and Lioness club. She was an
avid bridge player and served as a private duty nurse.
Survivors include: a daughter, JoAnn
Wickstrom of Ripon, Wis.; two grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by:
three brothers, Arlo Goebel, Marvin Goebel and Roland Gioebel; and
four sisters, Mildred Goebel, Velma Goebel, Augusta Lohrentz and
Ellen Voran.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.
Monday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m.
Tuesday at Bethel College Mennonite Church with Pastor Norma J.
Johnson offcisting.
There will be a private graveside
service at First Mennonite Christian Church Cemetery in Moundridge.
Memorials have been establsihed with
Bethel College, the American Heart Association and Bethel College
Mennonite Church, all in care of the funeral home.
