Margaret Osgood
Margaret Osgood, 93, homemaker, died Wednesday (Feb. 24,
2010) at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
She was born on Jan. 29, 1917, in Glasgow, Mont., to William
and Mercedes (Hibbett) Conatser.
On Dec. 12, 1939, she married Vernon Lee Osgood in Glasgow,
Mont.
A Halstead resident for 30 years, formerly of Rapid City,
S.D., she was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist
Women, Halstead Hospital Auxiliary and Halstead Senior Center, all of Halstead.
Survivors include daughters, Sheran Swank of Montoursville,
Pa., Verna Austin of Sioux Falls, S.D., Connie (Gene) Marsh of Halstead and
Peggy (Gary) Cvach of Herdon, Va.; sisters, Ruby Fitzgerald of Choteau, Mont.;
Delie Thomas of the Dalles, Ore., and Ethel Wall of Glasgow, Mont.; 11
grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Conatser.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kaufman Funeral
Home in Halstead. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United
Methodist Church in Halstead with the Rev. Jennifer Whitt officiating.
Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at Glasgow,
Mont., Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to U.M.W. in care of Kaufman Funeral
Home in Halstead.
