Rites Wednesday for H. E. Ewert
Whitewater, Kans. Oct 13.
Funeral services for Herman E Ewert,
69, a native of the Whitewater community who died Sunday in the
Bethel Deaconess Hospital at Newton, Kans. Will be held in the
Gnadenberg Mennonite church northwest of here, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday
preceded by a service at home 1:00 p.m.
Rev. Herbert Miller pastor of the
Gnadenburg Church, will officiate by Pastors, H. B. Schmidt and J. J.
Voth. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Smith Mortuary is in
charge.
Mr. Ewert was born in Fairmont
township, July 30, 1883, the son of pioneer parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Henry Ewert. He lived on the home farm until 1916 when he moved to an
adjoining farm where he lived at the time of his death. In 1911 he
married Margaret Schmidt who survives. Also, surviving are 2 sisters,
Mrs, Bertha Pearson, Newton, Mrs. Esther Smith, Kansas City, Kans., 2
brothers, Gus, Whitewater, Henry, Winton, Calif., 2 half sisters,
Mrs. Mary Unruh, Newton and Mrs. Anna Harms, Whitewater.
