Billy G. 'Chip' Allen
Billy George "Chip" Allen, 58, of Newton, passed
away Saturday (Dec. 26 2009) at Newton Medical Center.
Chip was born on April 16, 1951 in Chanute, the son of Billy
Gene and Adelle M. (Hall) Allen.
He graduated from Chanute High School and attended Kansas
State University.
He was united in marriage to Brenda L. Olson on May 2, 1981,
at High Prairie Church.
Chip worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad
for 37 years, the last 15 years as an engineer. He was a member of the
Brotherhood of Local Engineers and Trainmen.
His interests throughout his life were riding Harleys,
flying airplanes, fishing and boating. He loved sitting in his shop listening
to music with his friends.
Along with his wife, Brenda, of the home, he is survived by
his son Jared Allen of Newton; his daughter Kasey Allen of Newton; three
grandchildren, Grace Allen, Bailey Allen and Hunter Allen, all of El Dorado;
his mother, Adelle M. Allen of Humboldt; and a brother, Nick A. Allen of
Chanute.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Allen,
and a sister, Tracey K. Allen.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at
Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the
Healing Center Church of God on 35th Street in Chanute. Burial will follow in
the Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
Memorials in his name may be made to the American Cancer
Society and may be left with the funeral home.
