William E. 'Bill' Scheffler
William E. 'Bill' Scheffler, 79, of Colwich, passed away
Wednesday (Sept. 30, 2009) in Colwich. He was born on Jan. 27, 1930, in Newton
to William Scheffler and Martha Sadowski. They preceded him in death. He
married Sharon A. Ingram on March 18, 1983, in Colwich. She survives of
Colwich. He was a coach, principal, swimming pool manager, fishing
prognosticator, outdoor columnist and West Branch YMCA fitness instructor. He
was a veteran. He was a member of the Kansas Wrestling Officials Association.
Other survivors include daughters, Belinda and Ray
Hammergren of Stillwater, Okla., Rene Strunk of Wichita, and Robin and Richard
Beardsley of Granbury, Texas; sister, Maxine Friend of Wichita; and six
grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by four brothers and three
sisters.
Calling time will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Wulfast
Mortuary in Colwich.
The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Colwich.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church,
with Father Ken Schuckman officiating.
Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Colwich.
