Luella J. Ferguson-Harp

MARION - Luella J. Ferguson-Harp, 85, passed away Saturday (Oct. 3, 2009) at St. Luke's Living Center in Marion. She was born on Sept. 20, 1924, in Burns, the daughter of Floyd and Ada (Draper) Norton. In 1946, she married Gene Ferguson. They made their home in Peabody, where she was very active in the community, church and school. He preceded her in death in 1977. In 1988, she married Jerry Harp of Marion. They made their retirement home in Newton. They returned to the Marion area several years ago to be near their families. She is survived by husband, Jerry Harp of Marion; her children, Sally (Roger) Hanneford of Marion, Max (Gail) Ferguson of Derby, and Teresa Ferguson of Lawrence; five grandchildren, Mike (Kris) Helmer, Scott Hanneford, Dan Ferguson, Jill Hanneford and Ali Ferguson; and one great-grandchild, Anderson Michael Helmer. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a private family interment at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peabody United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the church or to family's choice in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Marion, KS 66861.
