Lorena Goossen
Lorena Goossen, 79, passed away Thursday (Oct. 15, 2009) at
Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro. She was born on Aug. 25, 1930, in
Hillsboro to John D. and Lydia (Wiebe) Pankratz. She married George Goossen Jr.
on July 21, 1951, in rural Goessel. He survives of Hillsboro. She worked at
Steven Springs in Newton and was a member of Grace Bible Church. Other
survivors include son, Keith and Karen Goossen of rural Peabody; daughters,
Sandra and Bob Blackmore of Newton and Kathy and Bryce Woelk of Hillsboro;
brothers, Harvey Pankratz of Newton and John Pankratz of Overbrook; 12
grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at
Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Doyle Valley
Cemetery, 10 miles south and two miles west of Hillsboro.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Bible Church, 1215
Grimes St. in McPherson, with Pastor Rich Duerksen officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Bible Church.
