Carol J. Troxell
Carol J. Troxell, 66, of Newton, died Tuesday (Sept. 1,
2009) at Newton Medical Center. She was born on April 23, 1943, in Petersburg,
Ill., the daughter of Lloyd and Hazel Guinan Vogt. She graduated from high
school in Petersburg and moved to Newton in 1968. She married Richard L.
Troxell on Oct. 26, 1973, in Miami, Okla. They continued to live in Newton,
where Carol had worked at Norcraft for more than 23 years. Carol was a member
of the Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards, and going
camping and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Voth and her
husband, Terry, of Newton, and Christine Trimmell and her husband, Darryl, of
Newton; two stepdaughters, Bobby Jo Thomas and Annette Johnson, both of Naples,
Fla.; one brother, Tommy Vogt of Lena, Ill.; one sister, Barbara Clemens of
Greenview, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Richard, on June 22, 2003; one stepson, Terry Justice; one brother, Lawrence
Vogt; and one great-grandson.
Friends may call and visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. Saturday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home, with Chaplain Denny Bell officiating.
Private family inurnment will be conducted later.
