Explosion victim Terry Reynolds dies
Terry Reynolds, the man injured in an explosion outside of
North Newton on Aug. 6, died Saturday at Via Christi Regional Medical
Center-St. Francis campus. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Cornerstone
Mortuary, 5318 E. 37th St. in Wichita. Reynolds, 55, was injured when he tried
to light the pilot light on a propane gas water heater at his home at 3230 N.
Main St. Gas had been leaking and exploded, burning Reynolds. Reynolds, too
badly burned to use his cell phone, drove himself to the North Newton City Hall
to seek help.
Reynolds is survived by his daughter, Ronni Reynolds,
parents Betty and George Reynolds, all of Wichita; and sisters Connie Hawkins
of Louisburg and Judy Stout of Olathe.
A memorial has been established for Reynolds at the Via Christi
Burn Center, 723 N. McClean Blvd. in Wichita.
