Roy Vega
Roy Vega, 28, of Rapid City, passed away suddenly on Tuesday
(Aug. 25, 2009).
He was born on Nov. 18, 1980, in Chicago to Juan Vega and
Carol Urias Rush. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Irene
Urias.
Roy graduated from Newton High School in 1998. He joined the
Air Force in 1999 and served five years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time
with family and friends. Roy was in the process of completing a degree in
radiology at South Dakota School of Mines.
Roy married Abigail Klein on Aug. 13, 2007, in Topeka. They
made their home in South Dakota. She survives.
He also is survived by his mother, Carol (Mike) Rush of
Topeka; father, Juan Vega of Michigan; two sisters, Salina (Jack) Ciotti of
North Carolina, and Irene (Winston) Hinton of Kansas City, Mo.; his daughter,
Selena Rakonsnik of Pennsylvania; grandparents, Augustine and Evangelina Vega
of Chicago; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Anyone who knew Roy knew how funny he was, and we will miss
his sense of humor.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dove Funeral
Home, 4020 S.E. Sixth Ave. in Topeka, with a Rosary at 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dove Funeral
Home.
