Esther A. Olson

Esther A. Olson, 81, of McPherson, and formerly of Newton, Clay Center, and Chetek, Wis., died Tuesday (Sept. 15, 2009) at Newton Medical Center in Newton. Esther was born on July 7, 1928, in Renovo, Pa., the daughter of Joel Cornelius and Alice Margaret Genevieve (Greene) Rundblad. They preceded her in death. On May 8, 1953, she was united in marriage to Gordon L. Olson in Chetek. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2009. She was a registered nurse and office manager for her  husband's business, Gordie's Plumbing and Heating in Chetek.

Survivors include son, Douglas Olson and wife, Susan, of Newton; daughters, Shirlee Harper and husband, Darrell, of McPherson, Joan Schulz and husband, Ricky, of Middleton, Wis., and Lori Crown and husband, Dwight, of McPherson; brothers, Gordon Rundblad and wife, Katie, of Austin, Texas, and Charles Rundblad and wife, Arlis, of Eau Claire, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Peter, and a brother, David Rundblad.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson, with the Rev. Jon Black officiating.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Garfield Center Cemetery near Clay Center.
