Obituary
Maxine Lee Engelhardt, 94, long-time
resident of Midtown Towers of Newton, passed away Thursday (Nov. 16,
2017) at Asbury Park Care Home in Newton.
She was born Oct. 18, 1923, in lola,
the youngest child of Harry and Bessie (Seeger) Ansell. She was
preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; and
former husband, Charles M. Engelhardt, who died in January of this
year.
She is survived by daughters, Sherry
(Don) Willis of Newton and Vicki (Jim) Conkright of Lenexa;
grandsons, Mark (Cathy) Willis of Newton and Mike (Susan) Willis of
Wichita; granddaughters, Erika (Gordon) McMinn of Mansfield, Texas,
and Beth (Scott) Shelby of Rockledge, FIorida. Great-grandchildren
are Carly Willis (Michael) Stavola of Hutchinson, Matthew Willis of
Joplin, Missouri, Sydney, Jamie and Chance Willis of Wichita, Paige
McMinn of Mansfield, Texas, and Brett and Brooke Shelby of Rockledge,
FIorida.
She is also survived by one
great-great-grandson, Greyson Reynolds of Wichita; and a special
friend, Sister Zita Oberle, formerly of Newton and now in Wichita.
No viewing or visitation is planned as
her remains will be cremated. A family Memorial Service will be held
at a later date at the Whitewater cemetery.
