Obituary
Darlene M. Davis, 81, died Thursday
(Nov. 23, 2017) at Asbury Park in Newton. She was born July 29, 1936,
in Colby to Rolland and Agnes (Baalman) Davis. Her parents preceded
her in death.
Darlene was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Newton. She was a member of the former D of I and
Legion of Mary both of the church. She enjoyed collecting dolls and
stuffed animals. Until recently Darlene was active in the activities
at Asbury Park where she made many friends and was fond of the staff
that cared for her.
She is survived by her brother Robert
"Bob" Davis of Newton and two aunt's Betty Vance of
Bettendorf, Iowa, and Orvella Schreiner of Dodge City. She is also
survived by several nieces and nephews.
Darlene is preceded in death by her
parents, three aunts, three uncles, brother Gerald Davis and an
infant sibling.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday
(Nov. 28, 2017) at St. Mary's Catholic Church with The Reverend
Nicholas Voelker. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the Mass
at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday (Nov. 27, 2017) at
Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to
8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be 4 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 28,
2017) in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Colby.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's
Catholic Church or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral
Home.
