Ethel E. Schmidt
Ethel E. Schmidt, 89, passed away Thursday (Sept. 10, 2009)
at Kidron Bethel Health Care in North Newton. She was born on Dec. 18, 1919, in
Newton to David and Edith (Von Steen) Richert. They preceded her in death. She
is survived by her husband, Roland A. Schmidt of Newton; sons, David Schmidt of
Great Bend, Steven Schmidt of Newton and Don Schmidt of Newton; daughters,
Meribeth Buhr of Wichita and Susan Grasse of Bella Vista, Ark.; 11
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a brother Roland Richert.
Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Bethel
College Mennonite Church in North Newton, with Pastor Heidi Regier Kreider of
the church officiating.
Private family inurnment will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel College
Mennonite Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home, which is in charge of
arrangements.
