Sad Accident
The Newton Kansan 1876
Sad Accident
Last week Wednesday
a little son of William Tibbotts, of Halstead, aged about four years, fell into
a hole containing about three inches of slacked lime which was then being run
off, and from which he died last Friday.
The little fellow in the fall landed upon his back, but in being almost
immediately extricated drew one hand over his face which was covered with the
lime, and at the same time swallowed a quantity of the same which in a few
minutes produced bleeding of the lungs.
The event was a sad one to the family, as he was an only son, as well as
an uncommonly promising boy. The Newton Kansan, Newton, Kansas. January 6, 1876. Page 3.
