James 'Jim' A. Unruh

James 'Jim' A. Unruh, 75, died Sunday (Nov. 8, 2009) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

He was born on Jan. 24, 1934, in McPherson County to Lincoln H. and Ida Wedel Unruh.

He was an elementary school teacher.

He married Ruby M. Zerger on Aug. 7, 1956, in Moundridge.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby, of Hesston; daughter, Jamie Rempel and husband, Mike Rempel, of Meade; two grandchildren, Janae Rempel and Daniel Rempel, both of Meade; three brothers, Paul Unruh of Hesston, Gordon Unruh of McPherson and Loren Unruh of Sedalia, Colo.; and two sisters, Naomi Rutschman of Hesston and Lois Stolifer of Galva.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Koehn and Esther Huebert.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moundridge Funeral Home in Moundridge, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Commital service will be at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Garden Community Church Cemetery, followed by a 10:30 a.m. memorial service at Garden Community Church.

Memorial donations may be given to Echo Ranch Bible Camp-Avant Ministries or Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in care of the funeral home.
