Pearl Johnston
Pearl Johnston, 82, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 17, 2009) at
Newton Medical Center.
She was born June 22, 1927, in Buhler, the daughter of
Arthur and Agatha Siemens Froese.
She was raised in the Buhler community. She lived in Hesston
from 1962 to 1998, when she moved to Newton.
She was a housewife who loved to be in her kitchen. She was
a loving mother and found great joy in cooking for her family and friends.
She was a member of the Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston.
On May 5, 1949, she married Willard Schrag. He passed away
on Feb. 14, 1955. She married Alvin Johnston on April 27, 1962. He survives.
Other survivors include her eight children, Steve Johnston
of Enid, Okla., Tom Johnston of LaVita, Colo., Roger Johnston of Denton, Texas,
Richard Johnston of Newton, Kathy Sears of Killeen, Texas, Karen Terry of
Grapevine, Texas, Lisa Milburn of Arlington, Texas, and Jan Stucky of Newton;
one brother, Harold Froese of Inman; two sisters, Clara Ediger of Buhler, and
Marilyn Lohrentz of Minneapolis, Minn.; 28 grandchildren, and 20
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters,
Evelyn Regier and June Zielke.
Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Miller
Funeral Home in Hesston.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kingdom Life
Ministries in Hesston with Pastor Scott Miller officiating. Burial will be in
Hesston Cemetery in Hesston.
