Elvera Jantzen
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Elvera Jantzen, 61, died Sunday (April 20, 1997) after a 17-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Newton to Dick and Nellie Reimer. She married Melvin Jantzen in 1955. He survives.
They resided in Newton and were active in Trinity Heights United Methodist Church. She and her family moved to Las Vegas in 1971, but continued to make yearly visits to all their close friends.
Other survivors include three daughters, Karen Dolan of Bellingham, Wash., Shirley Chandler of San Antonio and Connie Pierett of Howell, Mich.; six brothers and two sisters, all originally from Newton.
