Obituary
Alberta Mae (Eby) King passed away on
Wednesday (Dec. 27, 2017) in Springdale, Arkansas. Alberta was born
on May 6, 1933, to Hermas and Esther (Tangeman) Eby in Newton.
Alberta had many interests and careers,
but was best known as a food business owner in Hesston, Newton and
Grant, Nebraska. She was a devoted mother and loved cooking for her
five sons and spending time with them. Her interests included
sewing/crafts, travel, football (Denver Broncos) and enjoying coffee
and German pastries with friends and family. In addition, Alberta
loved her mountains in Colorado and enjoyed many years living near
them. Alberta was a very gracious and kind person and was very
devoted to her family and the church. She served several summers at
Echo Ranch in Alaska, using her cooking skills in service to others.
She is survived by her children: Craig
and Marilyn (Rogers, Arkansas), Doug and Rae (Hesston), Phillip and
Joanne (West Chicago) and Mike and Peggy (Hesston). She had 11
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; and siblings Charles Eby, Arlene Berner, Olin Eby and
Chester Eby.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11
a.m. Friday (Jan. 5, 2018) at the Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church.
A public visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday (Jan.
4, 2018) at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6
to 8 p.m. to greet friends and family. A graveside committal will be
held at Highland Cemetery prior to the service.
