Deanne Hochstetler Losey
Obituary
Deanne Hochstetler Losey passed away on
Dec. 26, 2017, in Wichita. She was born in Washington, Iowa, on July
12, 1951, to Dale and Lucile Hochstetler of Hesston, who both
survive.
Deanne was an author and an artist. She
published "The Marley Manuscript" and loved to paint in the
modern impressionist style and sold several paintings. She traveled
extensively and lived in Jamaica for 18 years, where she worked as a
free-lance journalist and as a columnist for the Jamaica Gleaner
newspaper. Bob Marley was a personal friend and she loved his music
and his story and promoted her book about him until her death.
She fought liver and kidney failure in
her last few years. The small group that she was a part of at New
Creation Fellowship Church was a supportive and strong family for
her, as were her friends and staff at Halstead Health and
Rehabilitation in Halstead, where she lived.
Deanne is survived by her parents,
brothers Thomas (Katy) Hochstetler and Jay (Kelley) Hochstetler. Also
surviving are her much loved nephews and nieces Matthew (Jillian)
Hochstetler, Adam (Adriana) Hochstetler, Susie (Chad Pruett)
Hochstetler, Hannah (Justin) Brenig, and Jacob (Katy) Hochstetler.
Services to celebrate Deanne's life
will be held at New Creation Fellowship Church in Newton at 3:30 p.m.
Sunday (Jan. 7, 2017). Memorial contributions may be made to the
church.
