Manuel Q. Chavez
Manuel Q. Chavez, 54, of Newton, passed away Thursday (Aug.
6, 2009) at his home in Newton.
He was born on April 15, 1955, in Bandon, Ore., the son of
Eustachio and Petrolina Quintana Chavez. They preceded him in death.
On Oct. 28, 1979, he married Blanca Sanchez in Mexico. She
survives.
Other survivors include one son Esequiel Chavez of Newton;
one daughter, Brenda Hernandez of Riverside, Calif.; six brothers, Ramon,
Ignacio, Margarito and Eusebio, all of Newton, and Luis and Prudencio of
Mexico; four sisters, Maria Guadulupe of Newton, Maria De Jesus of Wichita, and
Nestora Arzabala and Cecilia Cisneros of Santa Fe, N.M.; and four
grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy.
The family will receive friends all day today, with Rosary
at 6 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Juan Garza officiating.
Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
