Orville E. Winsky

MOUNDRIDGE - Orville E. Winsky, 83, died March 27, 2006, at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge.

He was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Harvey County, the son of Albert A. and Alice M. Chapple Winsky. A lifetime Moundridge area resident, he was a former employee of Krehbiel Hardware, Goering Hardware and Central Kansas Hatchery, all in Moundridge.

He was a former active member of Calvary Church, Moundridge, and recently was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Hesston.

On June 6, 1948, he married Bernice Porter in Newton. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Gary E., Newton, Darcy D., London, Ontario, Canada, and Kent D., Moundridge; two daughters, Kay A. Friesen, Douglass, and Joni Weeks, Taneyville, Mo.; a brother, Richard, Newton; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlow and Johnnie Winsky; and two sisters, Vera Mae Williams and Hesper Diringer.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge, with Pastor Don Jackson presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
